The Copenhagen townhouse

In a townhouse in Copenhagen's most popular residential area, we have designed a kitchen for architect Jeppe Dueholm and his family. All choices have been made with great respect for the house's history and the design has been inspired by the brick facade and the organic staircase that connects the house's three floors.

A quick walk from Copenhagen's botanical garden, along one of the three lakes that connect the city's different districts, lies Kartoffelrækkerne, one of northern Europe's probably most charming residential area.

“It was a given that the choice of natural and durable materials would be the cornerstone of the renovation of our townhouse. The ambition was that our additions would all feel as natural parts of the house as the 150-year-old brick facade. We have focused on good craftsmanship and put time into the details to make everything fit together. ”

In terms of design and material, the kitchen blends in nicely with the rest of the house. Walls and upper cabinets have the same tone throughout and have all been inspired by the house's iconic brick facade.

Above the sink is a minimalist shelf that is painted in the same exclusive creamy white tone as the wall and almost looks like it is floating in the air. Here you can show off your favorite wine glasses, ceramics and decoration.

The kitchen

All choices have been made with great respect for the house's history and the design has been inspired by the brick facade and the organic staircase that connects the house's three floors. A durable steel worktop breaks off nicely between the cream-colored top cabinets, Lindanäs limestone as a backsplash and the cupboards in dark-stained oak. The layout and material mix means that the kitchen not only feels like a place to cook in, but also a room for everyday socializing.
