The bespoke wooden kitchen in French style
In a fantastic apartment in Gothenburg, we built this modern frame kitchen in dark stained oak. The house in which the apartment is located, is built at the end of the 19th century in French Chateau style.
Together with the owner, we chose to let this be reflected in the design of the kitchen. The choice landed on a rustic wooden kitchen, with a modern twist with asymmetrical top cabinets. The restrained design of the upper cabinet breaks off with some open shelves to create a spacious feeling in the kitchen.

The dark stained frame kitchen is matched with a countertop in beautiful local cut limestone from Kinnekulle. This amazing natural stone offers lovely grain and structure with character, which creates a vibrant feeling in the kitchen. The limestone can also be found in the neat backsplash that goes around the entire countertop.
It was a real pleasure to create a kitchen that highlights the beautiful details and special architecture of the house. Beautiful contrasts are created between the warm oak and the light flooring and the stucco really gets to shine with the help of the more austere design of the upper cabinet.
Fridge and freezer have been hidden behind grey lacquered fronts and oven and micro are built in for a minimalist feel. The fan from Fjäråskupan is black to create an industrial feel that creates a perfect contrast against the rustic wooden cabinets.
