The functional wooden design kitchen
A beautiful villa in Bromma, outside of Stockholm, built during the 1930's nordic modernism era, has regained its former glory through careful renovation. In the middle of the house, we have built a minimalist and functional wooden kitchen with cabinet doors in warm brown-stained oak, comfortably embraced by grey Jura limestone.

The herringbone parquet has been sanded and stained in the same brown shade as the kitchen, which together with the light gray wall colour creates a warm atmosphere. The large kitchen island not only holds a lot of storage, but there is also plenty of space here for both social gatherings and, if necessary, a home office.
Along one short side, the oven and microwave are integrated in tall cabinets at a practical working height. The cabinets have pocket doors which hide the contents quickly and easily. It not only creates a calmer atmosphere, but also keeps the passage clear all the way to the terrace door.
The smart pocket door solution makes the door smoothly slides into a pocket next to the cabinet and taking up minimal space. When you close the door, you immediately get a calmer room with a more spacious feel.
