Wooden kitchen inspired by nature
Welcome to this linear wooden kitchen inspired by nature, built for one of our customers in a beautiful apartment on Östermalm in Stockholm.
By painting the base cabinets in a dull blue shade that lets the oak's veins shine through, the kitchen feels alive and organic. A shelf solution was then built on site in dark stained oak. By painting wood in this way, you get a modern twist on an otherwise classic kitchen and the light is beautifully reflected in the grain. The top cabinets have minimalist doors interspersed with open shelves.

The worktop is an Azul val verde limestone. The cold tone of the stone creates harmony between the tones of the cabinet and together with the warm oak, the kitchen gets a modern feel. The limestone and it’s splash guard, which is lined with the custom-made wall cabinet that also hides a built-in fan.
A kitchen island has been created in line with the rest of the kitchen, also clad in the cool limestone. Space has been created for seating to open up the kitchen and creates a social space for the family to gather around. An extra sink with faucet has also been installed in the kitchen island to make the kitchen more dynamic and easy to use when there are more people cooking in kitchen.
The materials in the kitchen breathe Scandinavian nature and are reminiscent of beautiful cliffs by the sea. With the warm oak and beautiful grain in the doors, the kitchen feels warm and inviting despite the sober and cool colors.
A wooden kitchen can be designed in many different ways and and can give both a modern and classic feel, depending on the choices you make. To read more about how to plan a wooden kitchen and for more inspiration, see our wooden kitchens.
