The modern Scandinavian kitchen

One of our most popular kitchens on social media and among our blog readers is this exclusive minimalist kitchen in a warm gray tone and beautiful gray marble.

What is most striking about this modern kitchen is the beautiful arabescato marble that covers the benches, walls and kitchen island. When you use a lot of stone, a room can easily be perceived as hard and angular, but in this kitchen we have created a soft and warm feeling through the kitchen's disposition and color scheme.

By placing several cupboards in a row, you create an uninterrupted line that the eye can rest on that create calm and harmony.

The few interior details added to this modern kitchen are subtly elegant and timeless. Among other things, two Louis Weisdorfs Multi little lamps from 1972 have been hung over the kitchen island and the bar stools are from the Danish furniture makers Brdr Krüger.

The kitchen is located on a magnificent apartment on Östermalm In Stockholm, where the home's owner requested a functional kitchen that would feel luxurious and welcoming. The kitchen would blend in with the rest of the apartment which is from the turn of the last century and is decorated in bright warm tones and has original details from when the house was built, at the beginning of the last turn of the century.

The warm gray tone is repeated throughout the apartment and creates a well-thought-out feeling. The oak parquet has also been treated to give it a soft gray color. When you look into the kitchen, it feels more like an extension of the adjoining room than a kitchen as the kitchen is built to create a furniture feeling.

The three elements in the kitchen design - the elegant marble, exclusive Gaggenau appliances and symmetrical gray cabinets.

The choice fell on a minimalist kitchen with wide drawers and several tall cabinets lacquered in a warm greige that lets the beautiful marble shine. By creating symmetrical lines throughout the kitchen, it feels harmonious and lifts details such as the structure of the ceiling and the beautiful parquet interact perfectly with the kitchen design.

Many people dream of a large-scale kitchen island in luxurious marble. This generous kitchen island holds a large part of the kitchen's storage and creates a lot of work space, at the same time as it is a work of art in itself.

The kitchen is located in a large room with only one window. Therefore, large areas and a lot of storage were created in the three different parts that make up the kitchen. At the same time, we left the surface around the window completely open to create as much light as possible.

Arabescato marble is one of the popular stone types as it is both beautiful and timeless.

To create harmony in the kitchen, appliances from Gaggenau were chosen in the color Silver. The wine cooler is also nicely framed so that it also goes in the same material and color as the rest of the kitchen.

Both the kitchen's design and the apartment's furniture are perfectly combined with the apartment's preserved turn-of-the-century details. This creates a perfect meeting between modern minimalism and classic antique elements.

The extra wide drawers and the tall cabinets create a lot of storage in the kitchen, which means that kitchen utensils such as coffee makers and food processors do not have to be visible, but still easy to access.

The inside of the cabinets are clad in beautiful light pigmented oak and it also creates a warm natural impression together with the grain in the marble.

The beautiful window frames and ceiling moldings really come into their own in this stripped-down and modern kitchen.
