Nordiska Kök's kitchen design forecast

In line with previous years, we dives into upcoming trends set to define our kitchen spaces for the new season; Experimental influences are set to dominate this fall, merging clean canvas with sophisticated contrasting. The overarching closeness to nature remains, yet becomes more elevated through new materials, fresh colors, and built-in features.

Nature living

The soothing, neutral bases seek new dimensions, with traditional wooden kitchens infusing modern detailing, from contrasting natural stones to an array of wooden surfaces. We continue to seek a relaxing atmosphere, but now we dare to play with unexpected contrasts, by inviting nature indoors.

Vibrant, colorful kitchens with lots of personality are growing in popularity.

Colorful

Directly connected to our growing love for irregular shapes, we're now inspired by colorful kitchens in eclectic hues. The options are many, ranging from entire kitchen solutions in contrasting shades or smaller details coming to life in unexpected color ways. When pairing up the muted color palette with more lively colors, a sophisticated contrast is created, set to complement rather than dominate. And, arguably, adding dynamic color is the best way to showcase your personality.

Modern classics

The forever timeless country-style kitchen is now experimenting with modernist influences. Classic meets Scandinavian and the result is an updated kitchen space that manage to feel both modern yet keep its classic and timeless touch. The choice of material is familiar, characterized by woods and natural stones but now we happily add just a dash of contrast.

Dramatic natural stone creates a personal expression and lifts the subdued minimalist kitchen.

Round shapes and dramatic stone make the kitchen feel personal.

Irregular aesthetic

After several seasons of standardized aesthetics, with focus on functionality and simple detailing, we're embracing a creative mindset. The contemporary Scandinavian kitchen loves a playful twist, happily hybridizing soft shapes with rounded corners and contrasting, dramatic detailing. All set to create a unique and personal approach.

White canvas

In the kitchen, we're using warm whites as our relaxing go-to shade, without any traces of energetic, overwhelming contrasts. Several well-renowned Swedish interior stylists, from Lotta Agaton and Pella Hedeby to AOJN Interiors, are returning to the classic white kitchen. You get the exclusive feel together with a simple base, ideal to level-up with art and detailing. This fall, matte whites become the kitchen canvas, paired with muted shades and timeless wooden surfaces. See it as a tranquil realm with endless opportunities - much like an empty canvas.
