Interior designer in Mallorca
Malin Plank Eduards is an interior designer and property developer based in Mallorca where she runs her two companies: Eduards Properties and Eduards Interiors. Driven by a passion for creating personalized, beautiful, and functional homes that combine aesthetics with practical solutions, she tackles everything from renovations and new builds to interior design and concept development.
– I believe that every project should be a home I could move into myself – both in terms of aesthetics and quality. For me, design is about creating spaces that not only inspire but are also functional and timeless, says Malin.
Settled in Mallorca
The choice to settle in Mallorca came naturally for Malin, as the island offers a perfect blend of international presence, authentic charm, and an unbeatable climate. Additionally, with a long background in entrepreneurship, Malin turned to design and real estate after selling her startup. She was drawn to a career where both her heart and soul could be involved, which led her to Mallorca’s design and property market.
– There is enormous potential here in terms of property development and design projects, which made it the perfect place to both live and work. Mallorca is an island with many newcomers and an international atmosphere, which made it relatively easy for me to establish myself. Initially, I never thought I would take on client projects – I worked on my own projects first, and then people started asking me to help them. I’m so grateful for that, says Malin.
An architect-designed villa outside Palma
In Malin’s latest project, a stunning architect-designed villa just outside Palma, nestled within the island’s picturesque nature, the balance between timeless elegance and modern simplicity is striking. The inspiration is drawn from Scandinavian design, infused with the natural color palette of the Mediterranean.
– I love combining clean lines with organic materials like wood and stone, adding details that bring warmth and personality. Functionality is always key, but without compromising on aesthetics. I wanted the colors to feel both modern and timeless, while blending seamlessly into Mallorca’s surroundings. To create contrast and depth, I used dark wood tones and black details, Malin explains.
Kitchen from Nordiska Kök in Spain
At the heart of the home stands the custom-designed kitchen by Nordiska Kök. The light oak cabinets reach all the way to the ceiling, creating an incredible sense of space. The generous kitchen island, clad in the same light oak and complemented by beautiful Daino Reale marble, becomes a natural gathering point for guests, contributing to a sense of rustic elegance within the room.
In the center of the kitchen, a coffee nook serves both a practical purpose and adds a bold design element that interrupts the overall linearity of the space. Unexpected, yet perfectly aligned with the straight angles and architecture of the house.
Nordiska Kök bathroom and storage for a cohesive look
Even the bathroom’s beautiful wooden vanity, wardrobes and desk was designed and crafted by Nordiska Kök. Creating a cohesive design throughout the home is always important to Malin, and when she learned that she could order both kitchen, bathroom, and storage solutions from Nordiska Kök, she decided to have everything crafted in the same stunning light hue.
– I’ve always appreciated the high quality and craftsmanship of Swedish design, and Nordiska Kök is a brand that truly stands for that. Nordiska Kök offers bespoke solutions and material choices that are perfect for the projects I work on, and for this project, I wanted something that combined aesthetics with function. Nordiska Kök not only delivered the kitchen but also the wardrobes, desks, and bathroom furniture – which was absolutely perfect, says Malin.
The kitchen was designed and crafted in Sweden in our carpentry Studio outside Gothenburg, and then shipped to the client in Mallorca, Spain. We are proud to offer our high-quality Scandinavian kitchens, crafted in Sweden and now available for delivery across Europe.
