The design kitchen in Gothenburg
In a turn-of-the-century apartment in the middle of Linnéstaden in Gothenburg, Annie and Amir have transformed a neglected home that yearned for love and care, into a unique home where the apartment's character can emerge through innovative design and organic forms. In the middle of the apartment is the site-built light-brown oak kitchen, which makes a big impression on the rest of the apartment's interior.
The couple, who have made several apartment renovations in the past, recently started the company Amnie Design and Development where they renovate homes, using their design expertise and a keen sense of color and form. When they bought the apartment, it was a shabby kitchen with a completely different layout. Only one side of the room was used and the work surface and water were placed so that one's back was to the beautiful yard.
- It felt like the kitchen's full potential had not yet been revealed, says the couple.
When they stepped into the home for the first time, they fell head over heels for the rounded wall in the kitchen. The thought went straight to covering it entirely in tiles to create a bistro feel, which would also be reflected in the lined glass in the glass cabinet and the rounded corners of the kitchen worktop.
Even in previous renovations, Annie and Amir have collaborated with Nordiska Kök and then, just like now, the choice fell on a stained oak kitchen.
- It is a beautiful but also a practical kitchen with lots of storage and work space, and you can easily move between the different surfaces. A completely unique and modern kitchen, say Annie and Amir.
The interior's common thread is clearly visible in the choice of materials and design. Something that comes back is the beautiful, stained oak, which is also found in the bathroom in the form of a built-in bathroom commode, also from Nordiska Kök.
