The stylish artist's kitchen
Together with the artist Emma Bernhard, we have created a minimalist and stylish frame kitchen in black Valchromat.
Emma Bernhard is a well-known artist who has made a name for herself through her extravagant paintings on textiles that can be found at the home of stylist Lotta Agaton as well as with the star architect Andreas Martin Löf, among many others.

This house is located in Torekov, known for its barren cliffs and its magnificent views of Kattegat. The kitchen was built when Emma first build the house with her esthetic in mind, reflected in the choices of color and design.
Everything is well thought out and created from a conceptual approach. The desire for a calm space is reflected in the kitchen that gives a clean and simple impression while having a wow factor with the distinct contrasts and choice of material making it feel modern and bold.
The house is located in the forest and the whole house was designed to reflect the barren west coast landscape and is in line with Emma's way of creating her artwork.
The kitchen is made up out of three sections – which comes from Bernhard's own artistry where she likes to work with the number three within the framework of a work of art, either in the form of three components or three steps that make up the work.
The kitchen is completely in black with a matte granite countertop. The lines are straight and create a sleek and sophisticated impression. In addition, everything is done with great elegance and craftsmanship – the sinks are under mounted with a soft rounding in the stone, between the valchromat hatches there is a beautiful matte black frame and the various components that make up the kitchen are all designed to create symmetry and balance. The three elegant black sections are perfectly contrasted with the warm organic vein of the pine-clad walls and the flooring in polished concrete.
The whole room is very clear and consists of straight symmetrical lines, but thanks to the soft tones of the concrete floor and the organic grain in the pine that matches the tough black details, the kitchen feels soft and brave at the same time. The floor also connects the kitchen with the rest of the house, which is also decorated in a meticulously executed minimalism.
The window frame above the sink is painted in matte black and creates an artistic frame that allows the beautiful nature outside to shine as a living work of art. The pine boards that dress the walls become an imitation of the nature outside welcoming the surrounding landscape to enter the kitchen and continue into the home.
Both kitchen counters each have a sink and faucet, a smart pick that more people are starting to ask for when building a new kitchen. This creates a better flow in the kitchen and makes it easier if you are more than one person who is cooking together in the kitchen. The large high cabinets hide everything from appliances to pantry, and make sure that nothing steals attention from the beautiful stylish design of the kitchen.
